“Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.”
-George Bernard Shaw
Psychotherapy can help you understand your emotional pain and, more importantly, teach you what you can do to regain your emotional well-being. I am an expert in providing treatment for depression, anxiety, relationship problems, and low self-esteem using cognitive therapy which has been demonstrated by research to be highly effective. This is a very proactive type of treatment that involves identifying problematic patterns of thinking and teaching specific methods clients can apply in order to rapidly improve how they are functioning. I will teach you how to recognize the blindspots in your thought process and teach you strategies for mastering a more effective approach to life that will lead to feeling better and achieving more of what you want.
We cannot solve problems with the same kind of thinking that created them.
Cognitive therapy is grounded in science and focuses on helping you to identify the ineffective patterns of thinking that are causing you to feel bad and preventing you from moving forward. It is generally considered to be more structured and shorter in length than traditional talk therapy, and the focus is on helping people learn skills that improve how they are functioning.
There are multiple types of cognitive therapy including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, and Future-Directed Therapy. I have spent more than a decade not only treating clients but teaching other mental health professionals how to provide these therapy models.
